If you are going to drive to the Peretola Airport, You will take Viale Guidoni from Florence to the Firenze Nord/Firenze Mare superhighway. The airport is only four kilometers from the center of the city, so the trip will not take long. You can also drive easily to the airport from other Major Tuscany cities, including Prato, which is 8 kilometers away, Pistoia, which is 24 kilometers away, and Montecatini, which is 36 kilometers away. The airport is also within 200 kilometers of two major seaports, Livorno and Piombino.

If you need to drop someone off or pick someone up and stay only 20 minutes, you do not have to pay to park in the short stay parking lot. After 20 minutes, you will pay 2 Euros for the first hour. The second hour or portion thereof is 3 Euros. You will pay a maximum of 25 Euros for a day in the short stay parking lot.

If you need to leave your vehicle for longer than a couple of hours, you will want to park in the long stay parking lot. It is guarded 24 hours a day, and the fees are quite a bit less for extended parking than the short stay parking lot. If you stay up to 5 hours, you will pay 1 Euro per hour. If you stay between 6 and 12 hours, you will pay 6 Euros. The maximum you will pay for a day in the long stay parking lot is 10 Euros.

When you arrive at the Peretola Airport for your flight, you will need to head to the check in counter for your airline. There are 23 counters in the departure terminal. The check in counters open at 5:00 AM. You will want to arrive early for your flight so that you can have sufficient time to check in, go through security, and get to your gate. If you are traveling into another European country, you will want to give yourself a couple of hours after you arrive. If you are traveling within Italy, one hour should be sufficient. If you are flying from the Peretola Airport around a mealtime, you have three choices for eating. Besides the snacks you can purchase at the duty free stores, Peretola has three restaurants. In the commercial area where the shops are located, you can visit A-Café or Spizzico. These two restaurants are on the first floor of the airport. These eateries are open all day and offer many different choices of food. A-Café is somewhat like an American food court, offering snacks, pizza, and sandwiches form several different kitchens. Spizzico also offers similar food. The other option you have is My Chef, which serves salads, snacks, pizza, sandwiches, fruit, and deserts. This air rental and air taxi services has been operating from the Peretola Airport since the late 1970s. This service has several modern twin-engine jets that can fly to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
