The most important thing to know about the hotels near the airport is if they are close by or if there are hotels at the airport. If the hotel is further than a couple miles away, you will need to know if they have a hotel airport shuttle service. Some of the hotels have pick up and drop services that they provide to guests that are just staying for the night to catch a flight.
This service is important if you do not want to rent a car for traveling to the hotel. After all, you are just going to add more things to do before catching your plane. If you have a delayed flight or just need to stay for the night before your flight, you will need to eat. Hotels at the airport or hotels near the airport should have some form of dining. Many of the airport hotels have some dining within the hotel or within walking distance, but you always need to make sure before confirming your reservation. The customer service representative can answer this question for you when you make your direct reservation.
The hotel airport concierge can tell you where the restaurants are and how far away they are if they are not onsite. This is helpful when you are deciding on what hotel to stay at while you are waiting for your flight or even spending a few days. Sometimes the hotels offer free continental breakfasts to all guests and have coffee makers in the rooms or lobby.
Many hotels have small refrigerators and a microwave in the rooms so you can just buy a few things at a grocery store and prepare a small snack or light meal in your room. This is nice if you have small children traveling with you. Many of the airport hotels have some activities for children. When you find the hotels near the airport or hotels at the airport that you decide to stay at, you can just confirm that they have a swimming pool or some other activities for the children. This is important sometimes when you are traveling with children. Little ones always love the idea of staying in a hotel that has a pool.
Once the hotel is booked, you can then request a hotel shuttle service that will take you to your hotel and the children will have plenty of time to play and have fun. Preferably, an indoor swimming pool is nicer, since they are open all year long, where as the outdoor swimming pools have certain hours they are open.
Many hotels offer in room game consoles, which you can rent the games from them or you can bring your own games along with you. This is another nice thing for the children and some adults as well. If you prefer movies, you can bring your own portable DVD player along to play movies on the televisions in the room that have the hook ups available for such a reason.
The rooms also have pay per movies that might occupy the children. These things do work for keeping the children busy for however long you stay is at an airport hotel.
