When you are planning your flight out of an airport, you need to know some answers about parking your car. First, you need to know how much room is available as well as if the location will have a place for you to park your car when you arrive. Some of the bigger airport car parking garages are large enough to handle thousands of cars, while others do have designated areas for daily, hourly and extended parking.

The rule in general is that there is always room to park and some of the major airports have online sites where you can view the status of the parking garages before you leave home. 3. Airport Car Parking Shuttle Service to the Terminal

Many airports have airport parking shuttles to the terminal. The service helps you move from your car to the terminal door where you will check your baggage. There are lot attendants that can point you in the direction of the checkpoint where you wait for the parking garage shuttle to come and pick you up. The service is similar to the car park shuttle service except you are on airport grounds.

There is no fee for the shuttle at most airports for this service since it is provided as a convenience to airport guests with luggage that need assistance moving from the garage parking lot to the terminal. It is also nice for people who are not able to walk any distance due to health problems. Airport car parking garages are sometimes large and spread out to accommodate the amount of cars that pass through the gates every day therefore, it is not uncommon for you to be some distance from the terminal.

When you use the airport shuttle service, you need to take all of your luggage along with you and remove every piece of luggage from the shuttle upon arrival at the terminal. If you were to forget something, you might have to leave without it, depending on the time you have left before boarding.

Because you plan to use the airport shuttle service, make sure to have your name and address on every piece of luggage to ensure you have your own luggage and not someone else's.

4. Airport Car Parking for the Handicapped

Airport car parking is available at all airports close to the terminal doors. It is still a bit of a walk, but you can find that many airports have some front parking places designated only for handicapped parking. You can drop your luggage at the terminal doors and then park your car if that makes it easier.

You can call the airport customer service desk to request a car park pass, which can reserve a handicapped parking place for you when you arrive. When you arrive, you enter the garage and follow the signs that take you to the level that the airport parking facilitator gives you as your assigned place.

You can also request a wheelchair if needed when you are setting up your parking place. The airport car parking garage attendant may have the wheelchair or you might have to stop at the terminal door and have a valet park your car for you. In either case, keep your car pass, garage parking stub and your valet ticket with you for when you arrive back from your trip.

When you use the handicapped parking, you do need to have a handclapped sticker for your car or a special pass from the airlines you are traveling. Airport car parking does try to accommodate everyone needing special arrangements.
